SIMON MILLER

Daniel Corrigan is the man behind the Los Angeles brand Simon Miller, created in 2008. Starting out as a men's denim brand, mixing Japanese craftsmanship and American style, the label rebranded itself when Chelsea Hansford became its creative director in 2013. The two designers, who met at a Lil Wayne concert in Las Vegas, collaborated to develop the Simon Miller brand. Having each worked in several retail-related jobs (graphic design, production, merchandise, sales and marketing), the pair were familiar with almost every step needed to create their own pieces. Becoming 2014 finalists of the CFDA's Vogue Fashion Fund, the brand garnered much acclaim for its eclectic influences, from South-West America to Parisian vintage boutiques.
While denim was once their go-to fabric, French leather is now taking over as the label's driving force and is incorporated into all their bags and shoes. It just so happens that Chelsea Hansford's husband Grégoire Gamba is a leather craftsman with an impressive portfolio; Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Goyard have all sought his know-how, and his talent is now utilized for designing Simon Miller accessories.
The iconic Bonsai bucket bag with its circular handles has become a certified ‘It-bag' and is one of Simon Miller's signature pieces. Colour is also a key element, as reflected in the Spring-Summer 2020 collection, guaranteed to brighten your wardrobe. The apple green Bend bag with its multicoloured pearl strap, the rouge crocodile-print Fortune bag and the orange Lunchbag will grant any look a dose of colour. As for the shoes — pink or snake-print platform mules, curved ankle boots in royal blue and lace-up mustard sandals promise a season where playfulness and modernity are the name of the game.
