    In the era of mass consumption and global resource depletion, Hillary Taymour offers an alternative fashion with her brand Collina Strada, founded in 2008 in New York. Far from moralizing and apocalyptic discourses about ecological issues, the designer instead presents an optimistic and joyful universe suggesting that the future can be as bright and festive as her clothing. "No one will change their way of life if that change is not represented in a fun way," she asserts. Deeply involved in the fight against environmental threats, Hillary Taymour aims to raise awareness by encouraging introspection with humor and kindness through colorful creations with fluid and voluminous cuts. Because at Collina Strada, sustainability does not rhyme with boredom!
    The collections are then made from organic fibers such as orange peels, fabrics derived from dairy products, or roses transformed into cellulose. But also from fabric scraps or recycled unsold items. In this perspective, Collina Strada has joined the OR Foundation program, which works in Ghana where fifteen million garments are sent each week. To reduce the waste that accumulates on African plains or is thrown into the ocean, the brand recovers piles of t-shirts to make its pieces and thus give them a second life.
    Finalist of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, recognized for her ecological commitment and her grunge yet luxurious aesthetic, Hillary Taymour gains the approval of her peers and Collina Strada becomes the darling brand of New York Fashion Week. Her shows are indeed a new opportunity to demonstrate her ability to blend art and humanity with models of all sizes and generations.
