AMI PARIS Men

Alexandre Mattiussi's story, founder of the AMI brand, is a charming depiction of when all roads lead to style. Born in 1980 in Normandy, the future designer dedicated his youth to classical dance, aspiring to be become a star dancer at the Opéra Garnier. He, nevertheless, missed the entrance exam for the prestigious institution's school, sensing that his path was elsewhere. Drawn to fashion, he studied at the Duperré school, interned at Cerutti and then landed jobs at Dior, Marc Jacobs and Givenchy. With these experiences under her belt, he launched his brand in 2011 named AMI, three letters that signify friend in French, yet also reference Alexandre Mattiussi's initials. Specializing in a casual and chic men's wardrobe, the brand quickly became a success. In 2013, the designer won the famous ANDAM Prize, whose grant allowed him to expand further. The brand's popularity lies in its nonchalant, friendly and relaxed attitude through essentials and authentic clothing that feel good, appealing primarily to men yet also to women. So much so that in 2018, Alexandre Mattiussi introduced "L'Homme pour la Femme", presenting its classics and subtly revisiting them for the modern woman. The result? Refined and casual pieces, playing on gender codes, for a versatile wardrobe.
