PELLEGRINO

The design house Pellegrino has been a leader in luxury leather goods since 1969. Its speciality: elaborately designed bags with exquisitely refined detailing. Artistic Director Renaud Pellegrino is a skilled craftsman, but is first and foremost, an artist. He excels in creating unique designs and his luxury bags appeal to fashion-followers and celebrities alike, including Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Adjani. His signature designs are meticulously crafted colourful pieces where the logo is conspicuous by its absence. No need for branding - a Pellegrino masterpiece is recognisable at first glance. The wonderful history behind this label all started on the ground floor of the Carita hair salon in Paris. The young designer, who was trained in footwear and friends with the eldest sister Maria, was asked to help run the shop. He successfully sold his hair accessories, bags and hand-painted scarves over the following seven years. He was instantly spotted by the fashion houses. By setting up his studio, Dior, Ungaro, Givenchy along with Yves Saint Laurent, sought out his services. He collaborated with the latter from 1976 to 1983, and opened his own boutique to sell his bag designs. The Cardinal bag, first success of the brand and a true ode to the 1980s, was released in 1986 and immediately became an icon of the Pellegrino label. Inspired by a mitre, the traditional headdress worn by bishops, it was offered in a selection of colours and materials. Another signature model to accessorise any evening look is the Julia clutch, which opens like a matchbox. An ideal companion for all special occasions such as weddings, dinner parties and cocktail parties.
For his Spring-Summer 2020 collection, the designer creates new accessories with lines, both modern and retro, to show off the most elegant silhouettes while having an allure of their own.
