3 Reasons to Look Forward To 2021

Dune, The Matrix 4, the return of music festivals like We Love Green, and London's gender-free fashion week: following months of lockdown and public health measures, the cultural agenda for the coming year marks the return of all the most exciting events.

1 - London Fashion Week, in February

London's Men's Fashion Week, usually held in January, had to be cancelled this year — but the British Fashion Council isn't one to throw in the towel, and in no time they'd devised a brilliant idea for taking down two proverbial birds with the same stone. From February 19 to 23, this novel Fashion Week will combine Men's and Women's collections, where normally it would be dedicated to the latter. Between physical events and digital presentations, spectators are invited to discover creations by brands like Emilia Wickstead — known for silhouettes combining elegance and modernism — Sabry Marouf, and Wales Bonner. We can't wait!

2 - Dune and Matrix 4 hit theaters

If our cinemas have remained even darker than usual these past few months, our fingers are crossed that they'll be reopening soon. Among this year's most-anticipated feature films we have Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Dune, starring Timothée Chalamet in the leading role. Originally slated for release in 2020, this revamp of Frank Herbert's sci-fi classic by the director of Blade Runner 2049 will hit theaters in September 2021. Warner Brothers studio has also announced that the film will be simultaneously released on streaming platform HBO Max. In fact, it's a decision that will be applied to all of the studio's upcoming releases, including Matrix 4. The latest installment of the post-modern cult-classic will be in theaters in late December 2021.

3 - We Love Green returns

As for music, 2021 should also ring in the return of festivals and concerts. We Love Green, a festival held in the idyllic Bois de Vincennes each summer for the last ten years (besides, of course, in 2020), will be back this year from June 3rd to 5th. The organizers went with a no-holds-barred approach for the current lineup, which already boasts hot artists like Angèle, Massive Attack, Sébastien Tellier, Four Tet, Rone, Doja Cat, Lous and the Yakuza, Arca, and Shygirl. An extra day has been added as well, and Gorillaz will be presenting an original creation.
