There are few design houses that can boast of a history as rich as Dunhill's. Founded in 1893 in London, when Alfred Dunhill was merely 21 years old and inheriting the family business, the label has lived several lives. Initially specialized in the production of shoe soles and horse-carriage equipment, Alfred Dunhill swiftly chose to pivot to modern motoring. And that's not all. In 1907, the businessman diversified the company's activity with a London boutique specialized in pipes and tobacco. It was an enterprise that would come to hold an important place in the business. As it opened up internationally, the brand gained valuable visibility and became a pillar of the era's pop-culture: pipes and monogrammed lighters, accessories designed especially for James Bond-esque characters, feather pens, watches — the vast line of products soon made Dunhill a worldwide reference. Bought by the Richemont group in 1998, today it remains one of the biggest names in men's fashion. In 2017, Mark Weston was named Artistic Director — alumnus of Central Saint Martins since 1996, the British designer cut his teeth at Coach and DKNY before working at Burberry for nine years.
