    Houbigant Paris Beauty

Few houses have a heritage that dates back four centuries. This is the case of the French perfumery Houbigant, founded in 1775. Its founder, Jean-François Houbigant, opened a shop located on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, which he named "À la Corbeille de Fleurs." There, he crafted and sold his perfumes, powders, and scrubs, as well as assortment baskets intended for weddings and baptisms. The shop quickly gained the favor of royal families and European nobility, such as Queen Marie-Antoinette. In 1838, the Houbigant house became the official supplier to Her Majesty Queen Victoria of England and Tsar Alexander III. Many other illustrious personalities joined the list of Houbigant's clients: Napoleon III, the King and Queen of Holland, Princess of Battenberg, Guy de Maupassant, the Rothschilds, Tolstoy, etc. In 1880, Paul Parquet took over the management and imagined, two years later, the fragrance Fougère Royale, which is the origin of a new category of men's perfume still widely used today. In 1912, it was the perfumer Bienaimé who took over and crafted Quelques Fleurs, whose floral bouquet earned it popularity and best-seller status. Since 1980, it has been the Perris family who has been working to perpetuate the legacy of the Houbigant house. As it was two hundred years ago, the composition of perfumes still takes place in Grasse, while the flagship products of the brand are reinterpreted by one of the greatest noses of the moment: Jean-Claude Ellena. The luxurious essences signed Houbigant create a link between the past and the present. Rich in a know-how perfected over several centuries, they evoke strong emotions through refined raw materials and harmonious blends.
