Founded in 1859 by Abel Crabos, Pyrenex has distinguished itself as an essential reference in the world of down jackets. It is in the heart of the Landes that Abel Crabos begins meticulously collecting feathers from geese and ducks raised outdoors, establishing the foundations of what will become a thriving business. Under the leadership of his son, René, the brand shapes a strong and recognizable identity. In the early 1940s, René's wife innovates by creating the first down jackets, thus giving a new direction to the company. The family adventure continues with André, René's descendant, who inaugurates the first workshops dedicated to bedding, thereby diversifying the offerings of the Crabos house. However, it is in 1968 that Pyrenex - and its name evoking the majestic Pyrenees - truly takes flight. That same year, the label opens up more to hiking by launching its first sleeping bags. Over the years, Pyrenex has managed to combine tradition and modernity without neglecting trends. The world of haute couture has not remained insensitive to its know-how, leading to prestigious collaborations with designers such as Alexis Mabille and Alexandre Vauthier, for example. Thus, Pyrenex asserts itself not only as a specialist in winter comfort but also as an influential player in fashion, both in its style and its history.
