During a trip to Morocco, Christophe Raynaud visited a leather goods workshop where a real smell of leather lingered. Passionately, he observed the meticulous work of the craftsman on a bright red leather. The darkness of the room created a striking contrast with the bright light from outside. The inspiration came to him as an obvious choice to work between shadow and light, a duo of leather and raspberry. For Cuir Grenat, the perfumer wanted us to feel the sense of touch through scents. Thus, raspberry and leather are seen as much as they are felt; they are flavors and fragrances, possessing unexpected oppositions and similarities.
