      STUART WEITZMAN
Stars of the red carpet, adored by celebrities and popular for their street-girl style, Stuart Weitzman footwear skilfully combines design and comfort. Even though the American designer's name is known today, it's under his father's name that he first started out. Seymour Weitzman launched Seymour Shoes in the '60s, a family shoe manufacturer where the young Stuart got his break. He waited until 1986 and many adventures later to be able to put his name above the door. Following his father's death in 1965, the young designer took over the business with his brother, Warren. A few years later, he began working with a Spanish brand, buying its factory in 1986, while, at the same time creating his eponymous label. In the 2000s, he became better known to the general public through a few well-thought-out promotional campaigns. In 2002, he designed a pair of shoes adorned with diamonds worth a million dollars. Worn on the red carpet of the Oscars by Laura Harring, star of David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, the shoes made headlines. Stuart Weitzman also collaborated with several celebrities including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez as well as Taylor Swift, for whom he designed shoes for her live performances. The brand's other key strength has been its advertising. Featuring a Gisele Bündchen overtaken by dance fever, a naked Gigi Hadid and famous dancer, Misty Copeland, the label's photos and videos quickly went viral.
Following Stuart Weitzman's departure in 2018, the Puerto Rican designer Edmundo Castillo took over. Trained at the Altos de Chavon School of Design (in the Dominican Republic), the designer debuted with Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Sergio Rossi, Tod's and Castaner before founding his eponymous label in 2010. An impressive career that earned him the Perry Ellis Award for Best Emerging Accessories Designer at the CFDA Awards ceremony in 2001.
Handcrafted in Alicante, Spain, Stuart Weitzman shoes each go through over a hundred processes during production. The high level of expertise and exceptional attention to detail constitute the brand's heels, ankle boots, thigh-high boots and stilettos outstanding designs.
