ORGANIC BASICS Men

As its name suggests, Organic Basics offers a range of eco-friendly essentials. From organic cotton knickers to Tencel boxers, to recycled nylon t-shirts, the Danish label aims to revolutionize the world of green underwear, one essential at a time. The label was founded in 2015 by four young men including Christoffer Immanuel and Mads Fibiger Rasmussen. The group was fed up with buying underwear, only having to throw it away a few months later. Organic Basics began as a crowdfunding initiative on Kickstarter. Financed in under 48 hours, the company started by offering the most popular menswear models to its followers, ensuring it fulfilled a demand and not simply producing pieces that gathered dust in the warehouse. Organic Basics designs respond to one key requirement... They must last as long as possible. Following Dame Vivienne Westwood's mantra, "Buy less, choose well and make it last," they are made from luxury, environmentally friendly materials, designed to not only withstand the test of time but also different washing cycles. Manufacturing in European factories, meeting strict regulations concerning health and working conditions, the brand also aims to re-energise sustainable fashion by giving it a cooler image. Following its enormous success, the label is now expanding into womenswear.
White, black, grey, beige and pale pink... The Organic Basics colour palette is simple and designed to blend in with any wardrobe. While its style is definitively timeless, the label's research and development elements are firmly rooted in the expectations of the 21st century. Each product comes with a calculation of its impact on the environment and the brand has a good handle on how much its green manufacturing processes have reduced C02 emissions, as well as how many litres of water have potentially been saved. Another one of the label's key features is SilverTech, a metal-enriched fabric which absorbs odours and kills bacteria. The result? Less washing and therefore a greater benefit to the environment.
