Y is the very first fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent, launched in 1964. Yves Saint Laurent named it after the initial of his first name, inviting women to express their masculine side, and assert a strong, liberated identity. The opening is fresh, almost cold, with the presence of a fiery spicy note combined with the freshness of Bergamot. This is followed by sumptuous, silky notes of white flowers. Iris, a flower with woody accents, is at its heart, structuring this fragrance. The base opens with a note of Oak Moss, a sign of the elegance of Chypre, combined with Patchouli. A deep, vibrant, intense woodiness accompanies the floral note to create this mysterious, authentic eau de toilette.
