PHILOSOPHY DI LORENZO SERAFINI
Italian elegance has never gone out of style, thanks in part to prestigious design houses like Philosophy. Founded in 1984, it's Alberta Ferretti's second line, formerly known as Jeans Philosophy before being renamed Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti in 1994. Imagined for the contemporary woman, the label was an instant success with younger generations thanks to its comfortable, informal allure. Made in Italy with the same unbeatable craftsmanship as its sister brand, Philosophy's collections are characterized by their romantic and refined sensibility. Since 2014, Lorenzo Serafini has been acting Creative Director — a graduate of Milan's prestigious Academia di Belle Arti, he's worked at the head of womenswear collections at Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, and Blumarine. Inspired by actresses like Brooke Shields and Isabella Rossellini, under his direction the label has become a leading reference in elegance — take, for example, the ultra-feminine robes and blouses adorned with lace and perfect draping. The collections have charmed the likes of Chloë Moretz, Chloë Sevigny, and Alessandra Ambrosio, who sported a number of the brand's looks at the 72nd Mostra de Venise.
