Available in France since early March, Helena Coan's latest film, produced by the team behind McQueen, unveils new facets of one of Hollywood's most emblematic actresses. The film features never-before-seen archives and exclusive interviews that take a look back on her incredible career, her childhood, and her philanthropic commitments.

Heroine of the unforgettable Breakfast at Tiffany's and the incarnation of understated elegance in a period ruled by the likes of glamour girl Marilyn Monroe, today Audrey Hepburn's legacy remains as intact and inspirational as it was when she passed away 30 years ago. Audrey, More Than an Icon, is just one element of proof — a retrospective on the British actress' career and lesser-known childhood, the latter contributing shades of nuance to this portrait of Hubert de Givenchy's dear friend and confidante, a symbol of style and cinema alike.

Born in Belgium in 1929 to an aristocratic Dutch mother and a British father who eventually abandoned the family, Audrey Hepburn, née Ruston, grew up amidst the Second World War, between England and occupied Belgium and the Netherlands. The historic drama forced her to give up on her dream of becoming a ballerina. Very quickly, the young woman would instead become America's sweetheart. After taking Broadway by storm with her performance in the title role of the musical Gigi, Hepburn won her first Oscar at the tender age of 24 for her role in the eternal classice Roman Holiday.

In 1967, following a host of cinematic successes, the star decided to put an end to her career in the movies in order to dedicate herself to humanitarian initiatives. A world ambassador for UNICEF, she traveled frequently to Africa and South America in the interest of helping others, especially children. So much more than a celebrity, Audrey Hepburn showed herself to be a resolutely humane individual, more than capable of descending from the pedestal upon which she'd been placed by the mass media and audiences around the world. Thanks to personal archives, as well as exclusive interviews with her son Sean Hepburn Ferrer and former Artistic Director of Givenchy, Claire Waight Keller, Audrey, More than an Icon, offers a novel perspective on this complex artist and humanitarian — "an unprecedented dive into her life and her dreams, her ambitions, and her timeless legacy."

"Audrey, More Than an Icon" is available on Canal+ and DVD.
