TREND LEATHER: THE MUST-HAVE PIECES OF THE SEASON

On the runways, leather is featured in all the Fall-Winter collections, from major houses to young designers. Smooth or textured, embossed, patent or nubuck, one of the trends of this Fall-Winter season... Leather plays with all finishes and colors, although black, brown, and burgundy are its favorite shades season after season. 

Classic pieces or innovative creations, leather continues to reinvent itself while remaining as timeless as its friend denim. This iconic material dresses both women and men. A focus on the must-have models of the season, which will also last through the years: leather is always in style!

L’automne est bel et bien la saison idéale pour porter une veste en cuir, car elle protège du vent et du froid tout en assurant une silhouette stylée. Pour se fondre dans la palette automnale, les coloris chauds comme le marron, camel ou bordeaux, sans oublier le noir sont de mise !  

Côté coupe, les vestes larges s’imposent à l’image de la veste ballon en cuir d’agneau de Loewe ou la veste large Claudie Pierlot, idéale pour un confort absolu avec son col fourrure. Les vestes plus courtes à l'image du bomber en simili cuir de Calvin Klein, conviennent parfaitement pour les premières semaines de mi-saison. Très polyvalentes grâce à leurs silhouettes soignées, les vestes en cuir se portent en toutes circonstances : en look de jour au bureau au-dessus d’un ensemble tailleur en laine ou pour une soirée chic avec une petite robe noire. Pour une balade le week-end, elle se marie parfaitement à un pull et un jean large. 

En hiver, le cuir reste tout aussi stylé mais moins fonctionnel suivant les températures. En revanche, c’est le moment de se laisser tenter par le layering avec une veste en laine, par exemple !

In the family of accessories, it’s in bags that leather seems to be the favorite material, thanks to its strength and durability. The small Tumulte bag from Prada is dressed here in a cognac enhanced by an ombré effect. The centerpiece of any autumn look.

Leather can be spectacular on bolder pieces, as evidenced by the short dress from Balmain and the straight faux leather pants from Gerard Darel. Looks with a strong character guaranteed!

At the feet, it makes an appearance on ultra-feminine models like the boots Jane from the brand Paris Texas. With their high silhouette, they will be perfect paired with a skirt or a short wool dress. When worn with other materials, leather creates looks more fashionable than ever.

Leather doesn't exclude the men's wardrobe; quite the opposite! Here too, it comes in various colors, both in essential pieces and bolder ones.

Prada offers a must-have for the wardrobe with its leather bomber, which, paired with loafers Tommy Hilfiger will create a chic rebellious look. For men, we find both everyday accessories like the Hobo bag by AMI Paris, and characterful clothing like the straight Garp pants from Saison 1865.

Leather undoubtedly protects against the cold, but it is sensitive and doesn't like rain: to maintain its flexibility and beauty, proper care is essential! To protect it, you can waterproof certain pieces with a non-aggressive product specifically designed for leather. If it has been exposed to water, blot it with a dry cloth and let it air dry in a ventilated room. Whether it's a bag, a jacket, or shoes, depending on usage, it's important to clean leather with a soft cloth: every month for frequent use and 2 to 3 times a year for occasional use.

Whether they are essentials like timeless leather jackets, handbags, and loafers or more statement pieces, all these items share the same goal: to showcase leather through every season, confirming its status as an iconic material throughout the years.
