The Age of Conquests is refined, precise, and undeniably noble.
A fragrance structured like a fern, built from classic and precious raw materials, and brought into the present with clarity and restraint. A modern fern inspired by the grooming rituals of Napoleon and the noble craftsmanship of Plisson, where vibrant citruses open up to a refined fern of lavender and patchouli, softened by a black tea accord and resting on a quietly powerful woody base.
Inspired by Napoleon's personal rituals, meticulous, demanding, and remarkably modern for their time, The Age of Conquests pays homage to the discipline of self-care as a discreet form of power, guided by the same sense of discipline and refinement that has long defined Plisson. From the start, the composition opens with a sense of energy and precision. Bergamot and lemon bring a clear, vibrant, and immediate freshness. A touch of thyme adds a green clarity, while pepper introduces subtle tension. The result is a structured, firm, and luminous vegetal brightness that sets the tone.
At the heart lies the black tea accord. Dry, refined, and slightly smoky, it anchors the composition with modernity. The tea note is not aromatic in the usual sense; it is textured, almost mineral-like, and adds a distinctive tension to the classic fern structure. Surrounding it, lavender offers a familiar calm, restrained and balanced. Myrrh adds warmth and roundness, a resinous depth that evokes polished wood and patinated leather.
Ambroxan elegantly diffuses the heart, giving the fragrance its smooth continuity. The base is built to last, rich but never heavy. Incense brings a luminous resinous clarity, enhancing the verticality of the structure. Carefully selected patchouli avoids any earthy heaviness and instead adds a dry, leathery refinement, softened and clean. A final blend of benzoin and vanilla smooths the composition, giving it a sense of ease and resolution without masking its structure. The perfumer behind The Age of Conquests is Marine Ipert.
For The Age of Conquests, she sought to express the nobility of classic ingredients and timeless craftsmanship modernized with elegance.
