Founded in 1962 in Brazil, Havaianas quickly conquered the hearts of customers around the world with its celebrated thongs. Inspired by Zori, the traditional Japanese sandals made of fabric straps and woven rice straw soles, Havaianas are made of durable, supple rubber, with soles featuring a subtle rice pattern, recalling their origins. In 1969, a production error led to pairs in green which were an instant success with customers.
