If fashion and tradition often go hand in hand, at Etro, this dynamic is simply at the heart of the brand's ethos. Founded in 1968 by Geralmo Etro, the Milanese brand initially aimed to provide original and quality textiles to local clothing manufacturers. A seasoned traveler, he roams the world with his wife, Roberta, an antique collector, in search of new materials and unique patterns. In 1981, he brought back from one of his excursions what would quickly become the symbol of his house: the paisley pattern. Centuries-old, this traditional design soon became the centerpiece of the brand's collections, which it has traversed through the evolutions. The launch of a leather line in 1984, the celebration of a home range in 1985, the launch of the first perfumes in 1989, but also and above all, the creation of a first ready-to-wear line in 1991... reworked every season without exception, the paisley embodies the very DNA of this brand with a nomadic spirit. After several decades where Etro remained a beautiful family story, Marco De Vincenzo was appointed Artistic Director of all the house's lines in June 2022. Through women's and men's collections, accessories, perfumes, and home objects celebrating individuality, the creator perpetuates while giving a new momentum to this bohemian aesthetic with subtle eccentricity, where craftsmanship and the incomparable quality of Made in Italy now coexist with the constant concern for preserving the environment.
