Burberry Coats

If Burberry is today part of those legendary haute-couture houses, it is partly because it is among the oldest brands, and partly because its creations have undeniably marked the History of fashion. In 1856, the brand was indeed created by Thomas Burberry, who was just 21 years old. A few years later, in 1879, he patented gabardine. An ultra-resistant and waterproof fabric that the brand would use to make its famous trench coats. Trench coats that would also be worn by soldiers of the British army during the two world wars. Among the symbolic codes of the English brand: the emblematic horseman who charges under the banner Prorsum and, of course, the iconic tartan pattern with red and black threads. Since his arrival as artistic director of Burberry in 2018, Riccardo Tisci has rethought the classics of the British brand, balancing modernity and tradition, subtly adding his touch of freshness and creativity.

Burberry women's trench

From military uniform, the famous Burberry trench rises to iconic status by being showcased under the spotlight of cinema and on the shoulders of celebrities and artists like Gene Kelly in Singing in the rain or Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. A cult piece of the Burberry wardrobe, the trench with Scottish lining continues to be reinterpreted. It can thus be found in recycled polyester, dressed in the unbeatable Check pattern, cut in the style of the timeless Kensington trench. Like the models that made the brand successful in the 1920s, the designer also brings back the beige gabardine trench, whose lining features the Vintage Check pattern. Riccardo Tisci also makes a splash with the black and beige bicolored trench, with signature straps and double-breasted buttons. Finally, in a radically different style, the designer offers a black nylon trenchcoat with very sophisticated visible white stitching.

Burberry women's parka

On the coat side, the English House also knows how to do it. On the occasion of the Autumn-Winter 2020 collection, the brand achieves unanimous acclaim with its wool parka. A winter coat for women by Burberry with a straight cut, featuring a hood with snap buttons. All enhanced by the presence of a logo placed on the left sleeve.
