Between the legendary glamour of Hollywood and French elegance, the Guess brand has managed to find the right balance and position itself as one of the key players in denim. It all began in 1981 when the Marciano brothers fell in love with Los Angeles. After spending their vacation there, they decided to settle down, leaving behind their native south of France. The brand name came about by chance, suggested by a slogan they read every day on their way to work: 'Guess what's in our new Big Mac?'. A word that would become the official name of their company based on Olympic Boulevard, just steps away from the sign that inspired them. At a time when jeans are a garment that workers cannot do without in the United States, Guess decided at that moment to reinvent it. The brand offers a wide range of pants and jackets with different cuts and finishes. Their flagship product? The slim-fit faded jeans called Marylin. The unique style and flattering silhouette of Guess jeans quickly became victims of their success. In just one year, Guess managed to secure a prestigious place in the largest American department stores such as Bergdorf, Goodman, Bonwit Teller, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Models from around the world became the brand's muses and greatly contributed to its global success in the early 1990s. Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Laetitia Casta, Naomi Campbell, Anna Nicole Smith, and Paris Hilton lent their faces to the brand, bringing to life advertising campaigns that became iconic. Today, Guess has over 1,500 retail outlets worldwide and offers collections of ready-to-wear for men, women, and children, as well as a wide range of accessories, jewelry, and bags with a cool, youthful, and dynamic design.
