Michaela Buerger Women

A graduate of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Michaela Buerger founded her eponymous brand in 2010. She, who grew up in a small village in southern Austria, amidst traditions and folk prints, has indeed made it her mission to bring craftsmanship into the luxury market. Passionate about knitting, which she learned at the age of four, and inspired by the alpine landscapes, she imagines pieces that mostly reflect the characteristics of "Tracht", those traditional Austrian garments recognizable by their shapes, colors, and specific details. The production, for its part, is entrusted to local communities of women living in Eastern Europe. In their workshops, these women hand-knit from virgin wool sourced from a small French producer. The result? Simple, contemporary, and poetic pieces, akin to jewelry.
