The reigning colour of 2022, pink comes in many forms: fuchsia, powdery, magenta, raspberry... It has its own broad palette, with a shade for everyone. To contrast wintry grey or to pop against a bright blue sky, pink is THE colour to try on right now.

The world stopped thinking that pink was just for little girls a long time ago. Obsolete prejudices have been swept away. Today, pink is everywhere, for everyone, no matter their age or gender. Like a banner, the colour can be found across couture collections and fast fashion alike. Seeing life through rose-coloured glasses is the adage that applies perfectly to this season. Whether in a monochrome look, with small touches here and there, or on an accessory, pink is a colour that must be tamed in order to be loved and worn.

50 SHADES OF PINK

When it comes to pink, there is a multitude of nuances that offer an almost infinite playing field when it comes to fashion. If the colour's many shades have different meanings, fans of pink can therefore choose the right hue for the moment. Powder pink automatically takes you to a softer, more romantic place, while fuchsia has a bold personality. In short, with pink, anything goes! You just need to assess your mood of the day to find the right shade!

MONOCHROME FROM HEAD TO TOE

Recently, one pink wardrobe trend has reigned: a monochrome look, with pink sported from head to toe. Like Ariana Grande in Pink PP, a colour democratised by Pierpaolo Piccioli, artistic director of Valentino, and recognised by Pantone as an official colour. It was such a remarkable look that it inspired Jenifer Bartoli who wore it onstage in the first episode of Star Academy 2022.

At Valentino, pink is essential. It's all or nothing, but more all than nothing. On opaque dual-tone tights; on shoes and on dresses, pink is everywhere, from a totally pink Autumn-Winter 2023 runway in Milan to the pink-covered façade of its Paris boutique 273 de la rue Saint Honoré.

Jaquemus, too, embraces the colour pink. For this swanky designer from the South of France, pink comes in a quilted format, with candy pink knits.Si chez Valentino la matière quasiment feutrée est aussi importante que la couleur, Jacquemus n'est pas en reste. Pour le créateur sudiste chouchou, le rose se décline de façon duveteuse avec, notamment, un joli panel de mailles rose bonbon.

MEN IN PINK

In this Barbie-tinted world, men are not forgotten. Pink is now an obvious choice. On the international scene, Lil Nas X is an outspoken advocate for the colour. Already in 2020, the rapper took the red carpet at the Grammy's all dressed in pink, an undeniable proof that the monochrome look works for men, too. From Timothée Chalamet to Harry Styles, pink is everywhere. Whether in small touches or as a full look, the idea is to break outdated codes and to wear pink with confidence. That's the recipe for masculinity in 2022.

It's an idea that the French artist and creative Gogo Lupin seems to strongly share. After all, he has turned pink into more than an emblem; he's made it a real philosophy of life. He is obsessed with the colour. Are you inspired?
