    A pioneer in niche perfumery, Jean Laporte founded L'Artisan Parfumeur in 1976 in Paris. A trained chemical engineer, he discovered his vocation when a friend contacted him to create a banana-scented perfume to match his costume for the Folies Bergères ball! A boon for this creative individual, he continued in this direction by creating fragrances around grapefruit and vanilla. He then opened his first boutique and equipped it with a laboratory where he devoted himself to composing his original scents, with formulas made from natural raw materials.
