Depuis la nuit des temps, un berger montait la garde au pied d'un magnifique cèdre dont la cime touchait presque le ciel. Foud'amour pour la jeune Leïlé, il a accepté de lui révéler son secret: le cèdre à l'arôme envoûtant n'était rien d'autre que le légendaire «arbre de jeunesse». Son dévouement à l'arbre l'avait empêché de vieillir pendant qu'il attendait son véritable amour. Depuis ce jour, il est dit que les amoureux protègent le cèdre qui les a réunis.
