With Cult Gaia, the brand she founded in 2012, Jasmin Larian Hekmat achieves the feat of offering fashion that is both chic and boho. Based in Los Angeles, the American designer who trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology began her career at Narciso Rodriguez and Jason Wu. Raised by entrepreneurial parents (her mother is a designer, her father is the inventor of Bratz dolls - the Yasmin model is dedicated to her), the designer took a chance by starting to sell flower crowns with a very Coachella spirit. But it wasn't until 2014 and the advent of the Ark, a small basket made of flat bamboo sticks held together by invisible threads, that the business really took off. And at a time when the imminent death of the it-bag is predicted more than ever, it is still interesting to see a bag whose appeal crosses borders and generations. Popular with celebrities, the trendiest influencers, and also street girls, this accessory with an original design quickly established itself as a functional and stylish bag... at a low price. Because concerned about reaching the largest audience, Jasmin Larian Hekmat offers purse-friendly creations. Available in dozens of shades in bamboo and acrylic, the Ark led the small fashion revolution that was missing on the West Coast. And far from being the artisan of a single success, the designer presents attractive new items each season: a worthy successor to the first bestseller, the Lillith quickly made its mark with its acrylic curves, followed by the very precious Eos, the graphic Trina, and the phenomenal Pearl. This was followed by shoes with both sculptural heels and a reasonable height, as well as airy dresses, skirts, and tops that complete a Californian bohemian silhouette that has already proven itself.
