Founded by husband-wife duo Thierry and Amélie Gillier, Zadig & Voltaire has always been as rebellious as it was innovative, proposing a ready-to-wear line distinguished by its fine materials and sharp design. Taking its name from Voltaire's novel Zadig, ou la destinée, foregrounding an exaggeratedly optimistic protagonist, today the label is synonymous with laid-back luxury. While the first collection offered only womenswear and was oriented towards a distinctly Parisienne clientele, the brand quickly stepped onto the international stage, integrating menswear in 2004 and children's clothing in 2006. Creative Director Cécilia Bönström has since added a line of accessories that includes watches, bags, shoes, and even fragrances. Over time, Zadig & Voltaire has refined our image of rock-n-roll chic, thanks to its collaborations with models like Kate Moss, Eva Herzigova, Hailey Baldwin, and Bella Hadid. Zadig & Voltaire draws design inspiration from music, resulting in pieces with names like Elvis, Mick, and even Justin (Bieber), for its cashmere sweaters. A host of creations have contributed to the label's roaring success, such as the Tunisian-collared t-shirt or the military-print parka. A wardrobe that's both versatile and unisex, and trans-generational to boot.
