In the mood for love

Saying that Banu Bora Mumcu is a film buff would be an understatement. Almost ten years before co-founding the In the Mood for Love label with interior designer, Rezzan Benardete, the stylist is already expressing her love for cinema. In 2007, she opened the multi-brand store, Midnight Express with her husband, Tayfun Mumcu, (for which she also designed an exclusive range). In 2016, Banu Bora Mumcu and Rezzan Benardete paid tribute to Wong Kar-Wai's feature film. The romantic brand's DNA: "A clash between boudoir dressing and haute fashion", said Benardete. It's about understanding and knowing how to combine the most elegant loungewear with the most luxurious fabrics. A motto, expressed through glamour, sequins and femininity, a trio as sparkling as its indomitable spirit, creating exceptional pieces such as the Sophia Loren ensemble. The iconic model encapsulates the brand's image and philosophy in its entirety. Inspired by the Italian actress' sophisticated style, this suit, made up of trousers and a pyjama shirt, is completely covered in sequins. The brand's best-seller graciously combines comfort with chic design, perfect to wear on a night out or for an evening in with friends, with high heels or trainers alike. Put simply, a proven classic. Born in Istanbul, Banu Bora Mumcu studied in Turkey as well as with London-based Jasper Conran before launching her self-titled brand in 2007. Rezzan Benardete is a renowned interior designer, notably behind RB Living, a decor agency, working with both professionals and individual clients. Together, the designers aim to offer a range of clothing exuding a party feel, an elegant and offbeat twist, to wear every day. A winning strategy.
