Our Favorite Series Are Back
Gossip girl, the raciest
A critical success as soon as it was launched in 2007, this series transports us to the well-heeled private schools of Manhattan's Upper East Side. Over the course of its six seasons,
this preppy cast — led by Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, and other big names — got into messes big and small, and left us totally addicted to the misadventures of Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf. In 2021, the cast
is slated to be far more diverse, featuring Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak, Zion Moreno, Savannah Smith, Evan Mock, and others. The reboot will be available on HBO Max, and the images and clips that have already leaked have the Worldwide
Web waiting with bated breath.
Sex and The City, the most hedonist
Carrie herself— or, rather, Sarah Jessica Parker — announced the news on Instagram: a seventh season of this smash-hit series is in the works. From 1998 to 2004 on HBO,
four women in their thirties revolutionized the small screen, featuring unfiltered dialogue and everyday glamor. Following two feature-length films from the franchise, released in 2008 and 2010, plus a prequel that came out in 2013, the
famous New Yorkers are back with And Just Like That..., a ten-episode season that should start filming this Spring, featuring Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York. But of course, we couldn't help but
wonder where Samantha will be in all of this, as Kim Cattrall opted to abstain from the new installment.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the most West-coast
Who could forget Will Smith and his on-point streetwear, making fun of his cousin Carlton and shaking up every unspoken rule he came across? From 1990 to 1996,
the Fresh Prince lit up NBC. The channel even ordered two new seasons to reboot the series, from which audiences can expect a real change in tone and setting. While the elements of the well-loved script remain in place, the style this
time around is meant to fall in line with realist dramas like The Wire. Leading up to its release, an extra episode reuniting the original cast for the show's 30th birthday was unveiled this past November.
