After having revolutionized our wardrobes with the Rotate label, Danish concept store Birger Christensen launched Remain in 2018. Where its predecessor, co-founded by Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Madsen (two journalists-turned-creators), filled a gap in the market for special-occasion attire that was cool, sexy, and accessible, Remain, founded by Denise Christensen, brings us the perfect looks for everyday wear. Antithetical to Rotate, which itself evokes the perpetual movement of a wardrobe in constant evolution, Remain is all about the basics, placing the perfect twists on tried and true classics. The sleeves are voluminous, the dresses belted, and pants and blouses are tailored to bring you from the office to after-work cocktails. As for the materials, they're distinctly innovative — from super-supple leather to the coziest of wools. It's emblematic of Scandinavian style, where comfort and casual chic are the names of the game, and the label has quickly won the hearts of fashionistas the world over. Educated at the Copenhagen Business School, Denise Christensen joined Birger Christensen in 2017 as CEO. Having already cut her teeth at prestigious businesses, she revolutionized the Birger Christensen by developing in-house brands to reinforce the identity of a shop that had become a veritable institution since opening its doors in 1869. More accessible than other big names in luxury ready-to-wear, Remain is for the modern woman seeking timeless classics.
