Its timeless style, comfort and casual elegance make it an icon of urban dressing. As the Lacoste brand best-seller, the polo shirt is today the French label's signature piece, upholding the art of chic sportswear since its creation. It all began in 1933 when, on retiring, the tennis legend, René Lacoste, established his self-titled brand. Inspired by polo players' shirts, he created his signature model: a short-sleeved jersey shirt, cut in a breathable, lightweight fabric, with a ribbed knit collar, enhancing the design and protecting players' necks from the sun. Their successor in 2018 was British designer, Louise Trotter, who continues to cultivate this casual elegance today. After more than nine years as Creative Director of the English brand, Joseph, she offers a chic unisex wardrobe for Lacoste, consisting of slightly oversized garments, punctuated with leather touches.> View more
