Paris' Marmottan Monet museum reveals a remarkable exhibit featuring the impressionist master from Aix. The curation displays the works through the lens of Italian culture. In uniting the works of this influential 19th century artist with
older canvasses by Italian masters of the 15-1800s, the museum shines light on the Italian spirit of Cézanne's aesthetic. Astute visitors notice echoes of Le Tintoret, Le Greco, de Ribera, Giordano, or the Franco-Italian Poussin in Cézanne's
iconic body of work.

The "Playground" exhibition sings the praises of the sneaker, retracing its history from 1900 to today. Worn by millions around the world, this object of mass consumption has become a symbol that transcends age, gender, and class. Whether
they're worn as sports uniform, high-fashion accessories, or else elevated to the level of artworks in their own right, sneakers are everywhere and everyone's sporting them: from rappers to skaters, couture designers to elementary schoolers.
In urban culture and the fashion industry alike, sneakers are ubiquitous across the board. In following the footwear's history, we also see the expression of a state of mind and a lifestyle. With over 80 contributors, over 600 pairs and
accompanying documents, "Playground" is the first exhibit of this size and depth to present this cultural phenomenon in Europe.

The first exhibition dedicated to Barack Obama's official portraitist by a French institution, "Kehinde Wiley, peintre de l'épopée" ("painter of the epic") presents nearly thirty of the artist's works at the Centre d'Art La Malmaison in Cannes.
For his 2006 project entitled The World Stage, muses were selected from various castings held all over the world, from New Delhi suburbs to the favelas of Rio. His work questions representations of power and the sacred by highlighting
the strength of strangers. Visitors are transported in a visual manifestation, in all its scintillating hues, of a powerful dialogue between Black American culture and classical painting (Titien, van Dyck, Ingres...), inspirations of Wiley's
sensational creations.
