Who ever thought that French perfumery and culinary arts had so many similarities? For Gérald Ghislain, the founder of Histoires de Parfums, they certainly did. It is indeed in the kitchen that the founder made his debut, studying to become a chef at the Toulouse Hotel School at the age of thirteen. When at twenty-two, he realized that his passion for perfume was bigger than his love of cooking, he trained at ISIPCA and later created his brand "Histoires de Parfums", in 2000. The concept? a very personal library inspired by a visit to the perfume factory in Grasse. Famous characters, poems, pieces of music, all named after the year in which they were created. This new kind of encyclopedia that is all about telling stories without words, brings together Casanova, George Sand, the Marquis de Sade, Mata Hari and Mona Lisa, and pays homage to opera and art. Inspired by René Magritte's painting "The treachery of images", "This is not a blue bottle" collection plays on perceptions and associates scents with grand notions such as Ying and Yang, fire or light. A tribute to the West and East, the three shades of gold - yellow, white and rose - fragrances convey strong symbols such as eternity, wisdom and love. And to carry on discreet conversations, there is no better way than to make a declaration with the "En Aparté" collection and its three compositions "Irrévérent, Outrecuidant, Prolixe".
