You're never too young to discover your passion, and Cecilie Bahnsen knows a thing or two about it. The Danish creator was only twelve years old when she realized that she was destined for a career in fashion, all thanks to a visit to the Danish Design School. Following her secondary studies, it seemed only natural that she would manage to score an internship at John Galliano's Parisian atelier. It was a fruitful experience, and one that would lead her to continue working as an assistant and print designer. Before long, she was off to London to study at the Royal Fashion College of Art, where she graduated in 2010, before being personally chosen by Erdem Moraglioglu to assist him at his eponymous label. In 2015, Cecilie Bahnsen launched her own brand as the crowning accomplishment of an already-rich sartorial career. It's the mark of an eye for detail and beauty that's surely been at the root of Bahnsen's success in the industry. In 2017, she was a finalist for the LVMH Prize and, the same year, was one of the Danish designers (along with the likes of Ganni and Saks Potts) who would revolutionize the local industry and make Copenhagen Fashion Week one worth highlighting in our agendas. Working towards a more ethical and responsible industry, in 2020 Bahnsen launched 2020 Encore, a line made entirely of deadstock — scraps and cut-away fabric collected from workshops. Copied time and time again, her designs have come to define our era — at the intersection between haute couture and must-haves of yore.> View more
