BURBERRY Men

With roots in textile innovation and a brand heritage that dates back to the 19th century, Burberry is one of the most prestigious labels in the world. Founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry in Basingstoke, England, the inaugural idea was to produce garments that could brave the region's harsh weather. 21 at the time, Thomas Burberry's age didn't mask his talent — just thirteen years later, he would introduce a groundbreaking material called Gabardine. Water- and wind-resistant and featuring a slight sheen, the novel fabric revolutionized the British industry. First used in army outfitting to protect men in uniform from the elements, it was integrated into everyday pieces by the early 20th century, notably in the form of the trench coat — which today, of course, remains the label's signature piece. Originally on offer for men, it didn't take long to become available for women's wardrobes, where it's still a go-to essential even today. Acting as Creative Director since 2018, Italian designer Riccardo Tisci brings us his vision of the Burberry man, partaking equally in tradition and modernity. Revisiting the tried-and-true basics of the masculine ensemble, the creator has consistently reinvented classics like the iconic trench and the men's suit. Under his direction, we also find streetwear-inspired pieces: hoodies, logo t-shirts, fanny packs, and thick-soled sneakers. In brief, masculine must-haves monogrammed or entirely decked out in the classic Vintage Check — timely additions to any kind of closet.
