ACNE STUDIOS Men
Launched by a group of friends in Stockholm in 1996, Acne was a collective of multidisciplinary artists before it became an internationally-recognized label. At first, the collective produced nothing but a hundred or so pairs of raw-denim jeans — straight-legged and unisex — which they proceeded to hand out to notable personalities in the Swedish capital. With its clean, functional aesthetic, the brand didn't take more than a few years to conquer the rest of Europe and begin making a mark in the United States. In France, it wasn't until 2008 that these sharp creations were featured in the display windows of Parisian concept store Colette. Leading the charge in Scandinavia's minimalist movement, Acne Studios for Men is characterized by Creative Director Jonny Johansson's approach. Here, it's about finding the perfect ratio between timeless basics and surprising touches, all in an unexpected multicolor palette. Johansson draws inspiration from a number of passions and hobbies such as art, architecture, photography, and pop culture. The fruits of his reflections are clothes and accessories with an alternative edge, made from carefully-chosen materials. Among the brand's beloved pieces we find enveloping parkas perfect for resisting cold weather, plus the Manhattan sneakers, and garments sporting the Face logo. And since denim will always have its place in any wardrobe, and especially that of Acne Studios for Men, Johansson has created a line entitled Blå Konst, or "art blue" in Swedish. The Acne Studios for Men Spring-Summer 2021 collection presents an optimistic spirit, including spiritual references and a New Age look. At once daring and discreet, this signature style continues to attract new admirers, season after season.
