The greatest careers are sometimes based on chance and the fashion world is no exception to the rule. Just as Michael Kors and Jonathan Anderson were originally destined for careers in acting, jewellery designer, Suhani Parekh was focused on becoming a sculpturer. The Indian designer from Mumbai studied Fine Art and Art History at London's Goldsmiths University. After graduating in 2013, she practiced numerous careers, working for an architect, an art gallery and dressing window displays in a family-run store. Jewellery was never far away. After producing creations that were too heavy to wear, rather supported on a marble base, she designed pieces for herself that were quickly liked by her friends. When they asked for wearable copies, Suhani Parekh launched her label.
Named Misho, in reference to an ancient technique for shaping bonsai, the jewellery brand was born in 2016. Greatly inspired by architecture, the designer said she was influenced as much by Bauhaus as by Japanese minimalism. Misho's graphic, daring and oversize jewellery designs are produced with silver. A conscious choice by the designer, who combines this metal with jewellery as she finds it more malleable, shinier and with the perfect density. Sometimes polished, sometimes gold plated and sometimes adorned with pearls, this precious metal fulfils all the designer's needs who has already built up a loyal and broad clientele. Among her most renowned followers are: Kendall Jenner, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian and Deepika Padukone. With so many ambassadors, the label's future is looking bright.> View more
